OurSugarBush world is alive and well and we are getting ready for the 2026 maple syrup season.
Our firewood was all cut and split early this year ahead of Chris’ knee replacement surgery in mid November. Life is all about planning!
In December we hosted our first annual Maple Market Day and it was a huge success! Big thanks to all of our maple lovin’ family and friends!
We’ve spent the last month plowing through knee deep snow replacing our taps and fixing the vacuum lines. The squirrel population in our bush is alive and chewing, we’re not sure why they like it. I really wish they didn’t. We have a fallen tree on our collection shed that needs to be sawn and cleaned up. And it’s time to assemble the equipment, wash tanks and tap those trees!
The winter has been cold and snowy (and LONG!) but I promise, the sap will flow in the maple trees soon. The 14 day forecast is looking promising! Stay tuned for fresh maple syrup and of course, pancakes too!
I ♥ maple!
